norelem and Cadenas searches for the 2014 Engineering Newcomer
At the Motek trade exhibition in Stuttgart, Germany, the winners of the Engineering Newcomer Challenge 2014 were announced.
Students had the chance to submit their constructions for the Engineering Newcomer Challenge 2014 until the end of August. An expert jury then selected the winners from the many interesting designs and announced them at the Motek trade exhibition in Stuttgart.
It was not just the prize money that attracted participants to take part in the 2014 Engineering Newcomer Challenge, this award also improves career opportunities and gains a project national recognition.
Geschäftsführer Marcus Schneck bei der Preisverleihung zum Engineer Newcomer 2014

"We have a tradition of supporting and sponsoring young trainees, technicians and engineers in their careers. We set and apply standards to create scope for new ideas and innovations. It is about offering young people this type of opportunity. At norelem, we like to think we contribute a small part to this" explains Marcus Schneck, CEO of norelem.

Members of the expert jury were:
Marcus Schneck, Matthias Grywatsch – National Working Group of Technical Universities and Jürgen Heimbach – CEO of the software manufacturer CADENAS. The participants were rated according to the following criteria:
Innovation/creativity:
Is the design a completely new development or does not use technologies that are already in existence?
Added value/technological benefits/market opportunities:
Could the project be realistically implemented, is it an improvement in the work process and extremely important: is there a market for the product?
Use of standards/purchased parts/cost strategies/variability:
Have existing parts been used and is standardisation possible?
