Self-cutting thread inserts from norelem
Stable, tear-proof, vibration-proof and wear-resistant
When screwing in light metals and plastics they cut their own mating thread. They make such a strong connection with the base material and thus create the conditions for robust screw and retaining connections with high pull-out strength. Self-tapping threaded inserts from norelem are quickly and easily installed by means of pre-drilled locating holes. Besides the classic threaded inserts, norelem now offers the self-tapping versions with thread sizes from M3 to M16 and in several lengths.
If connections with materials such as aluminium, brass, bronze, cast iron, duroplastics and thermoplastics should be resilient, tear-proof and vibration-proof, self-tapping threaded inserts from norelem are the right choice. They also cater for the necessary stability and allow wear-free, repeated loosening and tightening of threaded connections for materials with lower hardness and shear strength. Self-tapping threaded inserts can find a wide range of applications in the metal and plastics processing industries as well as in the craftmanship trade.
The thread inserts manufactured of case-hardened steel (galvanized, yellow-passivated, free of chrome VI) or stainless steel produce a high pressing force with the base material and are corrosion resistant and easy to install. The conical-shaped threaded inserts with cutting slot in principle have the effect to constrict slightly at the top when screwed in - depending on the dimension of the pilot hole and the hardness of the base material.
If the associated screw connection effect is not desired, the rigid threaded inserts with cutting bores find application: These are especially suitable for hardly machinable materials. With their thicker walls and three cutting bores they develop greater force during machining. For installation of threaded inserts, hand installation tools are available for small volumes and machine installation tools for mass production.
