Optimisation on this year's vehicle

In order to maximise the dynamic potential of the eSleek17, all the component concepts form the previous vehicle were put to the test using simulation tools.

Reliable and well optimised concepts were adopted in order to channel capacities towards components with the greatest potential for improving performance and reducing lap times.

The main improvements made to the eSleek17 compared to last year's vehicle are:

  • Aerodynamic downforce doubled
  • Weight of the vehicle reduced by 10 kg
  • New kinematics for increased mechanical grip
  • New traction control with feedback loop to the torque vectoring system
  • Increased battery efficiency thanks to a more efficient balancing system
  • Further development of driver ergonomics, optimised seat and new multi-functional steering wheel
  • New rain tyres 

Technical highlights:

  • Vehicle weight: 195 kg
  • Power-to-weight ratio: 1.1 kg/HP
  • Torque: 1400 Nm
  • System voltage: 600 V
  • Acceleration from 0–100 km/h: 2.2 s
  • Four-wheel drive with 4 motors, integrated into the wheel mounts
  • Carbon fibre monocoque in a sandwich construction
  • High downforce aero package
  • Driving aids: traction control, torque vectoring, energy management system

The screws from norelem secure the seat belts to protect the driver and to hold the driver securely in the seat at high G's. For the homologation of the belt connection, the screws are connected to a representative piece of the monocoque and tested in a tensile testing machine with up to 1.3 tonnes.
