"Flying kitchen" university project

Leonie S., Annika K. and Jakob M., students at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle, built a mobile kitchen as part of a university project. The amazing thing about this kitchen is that it was designed for use in a lift!
The project:

Under the moniker "flying kitchen", the three students from Halle, Germany, developed a mobile kitchen as part of a university project. The students decided to try and revolutionise the world of elevators and design a kitchen for use inside them.

After creating an exact 3D model, the individual construction stages began.

An important requirement for the kitchen in small spaces was a high level of flexibility while also requiring ideal working possibilities. The result was an innovative storage system comprising a roller carriage with wall rails. This can be equipped with DIN-compliant Euroboxes.

An additional challenge in this project was to fasten the walls in the lift, since neither bolts nor adhesive were viable options. This problem was circumvented with a "house of cards" system (walls were inserted into one another).

The lift kitchen is used particularly in the following scenarios: offices, universities, hotels, and also for private use in multi-storey buildings.
