Comfortable recumbent bike

In the course of the mechanical engineering study at the Saarland University of Applied Sciences, a team of three 4th semester students worked on a project for the development and design implementation of the "recumbent bike" product idea under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernd Heidemann.
This recumbent bike is a three-wheeled model with two front wheels and one back wheel. Compared with a conventional bike the recumbent bike has greater sitting comfort and, thanks to a relaxed and more ergonomic sitting position, it increases the feeling of wellbeing for everyone.
Additionally the special feature of this model is the ability to quickly adjust the seat without tools.
The results of the project were presented in form of a built prototype by the team, which consisted of Stephan Hirschauer, Mike Swienty and Patrick Firczynski, at an in-house exhibition at the University of Applied Sciences in October 2012. This annual exhibition has already been held six times and it is always an interesting experience for the numerous visitors to this event.
norelem DIN 71802 form CS angle joints (number to order 27650-10061) are used for the steering. Attached to the ends of the two handlebars, they determine the direction of travel by the operation of the handlebar grips.
